オーダーメイドのワイシャツ
夏に父親にお仕立券付のワイシャツ生地を貰った。すでにリタイヤしたのでスーツなんか着ないと言うので、一応貰っておくことにした。僕だってリタイアした訳じゃないけどスーツなんか着ない。最後にスーツを着たのがいつだったかも思い出せないくらいだ。コバの結婚式か誰かの法事だったか。
そんな感じなのでワイシャツの生地のことはすっかり忘れてたんだけど、お仕立券に利用期限があって、販売日から６ヶ月以内なら無料で仕立てるけど、それをすぎると有料になるらしい。今月で無料期間が終わってしまうので作りに行ってみた。
お姉さんに生地とお仕立券を渡したら生地は交換できますよと言われた。なるほどね。手元にある生地はうっすらとストライプが入ってるんだけど無難に無地にした。で、襟の形、袖の形、カフスの有無なんかを決めて採寸。僕はちょっと腕が長いらしい。時計は右にするので右の袖を少し大きめにしてもらう。オーダーメイドってこういうことだったんだとちょっと感動した。
全部終わってから他の生地を眺めていると、「プレス記者向け」というのがあった。何が違うんだろうと思ってたら第一ボタンが無い。ネクタイを締めたり緩めたりしやすいのが特徴らしい。それって記者向けなのだろうか？クールビズなワイシャツって感じで普通のサラリーマンが着てもいいじゃないと思った。もちろん僕は着ない。そもそもネクタイしないし。
